About the Designer
WHERE IT ALL STARTED
Aurora Walker was born in New Orleans, LA and nicknamed after "roux" used in Cajun cooking since her early childhood. With seamstresses and tailors in her family, Aurora has always been fascinated with fashion and the apparel industry. When her mother Rita showed her how to thread and use her first machine in high school she was hooked, and set out to pursue her passion for sewing.
After receiving her bachelor's in Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising with a design emphasis, she furthered her education in costume design and tailoring under her mentor Dianna Adriano on the MS Gulf Coast. Her other mentors and professional colleagues include Mardi Gras legendary designers Carter Church and San Nicholas.
Expanding her skill sets after college, Aurora has since done bridal, costuming, burlesque lingerie, ready-to-wear, cosplay, film/tv work, and much more. Not only do her proficiencies include sewing and pattern drafting, but she is also known for her beautiful design illustrations to accompany her work.
Aurora's outgoing personality and dedication to her craft drive her to constantly challenge and improve herself professionally as well as personally. Her company is a reflection of not only her creative ability, but also her commitment, ethics, skill, and original style all her own.
